Q: What models were offered with the 1967 Camaro?
I was wondering what models were offered for the 1967 Camaro. Was there a sport coupe, or Z28? A list would be nice. Please and thanks!
A: Mikey is correct on the base, RS, & SS packages. There were also 602 Z/28’s built in ‘67 and you could combine the Z/28 and RS packages, but not the Z/28 and SS since they were both performance options. Here’s the possible package combos. Any of these were also available in any combination on convertibles with the exception of the Z/28.
Base (which was called the Sport Coupe)
RS
SS
RS/SS
Z/28
RS Z/28
Q: How do I know if a 1967 Camaro SS is a clone or the real thing?
i plan on buying a 1967 Camaro SS and i dont know what to look for to see if its a clone or not. what should i look for?
A: I would go with the first answer because that is what i would do as well as run a title check
Q: Is their a size difference between manual & power steering coupler on 1967 Camaro?
I’m swapping out on my 1967 Camaro, manual steering to power steering. The manual steering coupler does not seem to big enough to slide onto the power steering gear box.
What is the size difference?
Anybody knows anything about 1st generation Camaro?
A: the steering colums might have a shorter or longer shaft for gear box or power steering box…you can pop the pins and add the other shaft part
Q: Should I sell my 1967 Camaro, and how much should I ask for it?
I have a 1967 Chevy Camaro project car. I have had it for 12 years, and never seem to find the time to work on it, or when I have the time, I don’t have the money. Should I sell it and make my wife happy, or should I keep it around, and hope for the best?
A: Why dont you do some research and find out what it would be worth after it was restored. Ive looked up some foristance a 1969 Chevrolet Yenko Camaro fully restoresd is worth about 80 thousand. Find out what you have exactly and show your wife what it coulfd be worth after its restored. Than she may let you restore it.. My uncle has a 68 camerro and once its restored it will be easly worth 80 thousand.
Q: How do i hook-up my MALLORY COMP 9000 high-performance ignition system in my 1967 camaro???
I have put my 350 motor in the car and everything is ready to go except I am a little confused when it comes to the ignition system i have upgraded to. I am unsure of exactly how the wiring should be ran from starter – coil – distributor – high fire box – alternator – etc.????? Please help, need wiring diagram! Car is a 1967 camaro.
A: Have you tried going back to Mallory and asking them? I’m positive they have a help line, and may even be able to ship you out another set of instructions. It makes perfect business sense…they help you, the product works well, you come back or send someone else to them. They’ll help if you call.
Q: Does anyone know a website were i could find a 1967 chevrolet camaro rs/ss project car for cheap?
i’m looking for a 1967 camaro rs project car for 5000$ or less does anyone know a place or website?! thank you.
A: Hey, I like your style!
craigslist.com
ebaymotors.com
oldcartrader.com
collectorcartrader.com
oldautotrader.com
my-classic-car-trader.com
That should get ya started.
If not that, you can try papers with classified ads. Where I live, there is a full actual paper called “Old Car Trader” and a “Deals on Wheels.” I’m sure every city has something like that.
How I actually found MY project car is through networking. I’m really into the car scene and know lots of car people… and just by word of mouth from one mechanic to another, I found my baby.
Hope that helps!!! Best of luck!
Q: what tires are good for 1967 camaro?
i wanted to know what tires are good for my 1967 camaro.
A: First you need to ask yourself the question what do I need from a tire. Narrow tires a better in the snow. Wide tires are better for traction. How fast are you planning on going. I sure you won’t but if you want to be able to go over 100mph then you need a good z rated tires.
Think about your exact needs and then include it in your next question.
Q: Need an aircleaner for a 1967 Camaro with 427 engine. Has to be a drop down 2 inch or more air cleaner. Please?
I tried a K&N but it was to tall, had a 1 inch drop down. I need something to fit a 1050 dominator with atleast 2 inch drop. Any ideas or suggestions? It is going under a 67 camaro hood.
Thanks.
A: Unless you have a low-rise intake and the ability to modify a stock low-rise air-cleaner housing, you are screwed. The carb is too tall-(over stock specs) and unless you drop the engine/tranny down to the ground, you will have to add an extra-tall style L-88 hood or high-rise hood scoop.
Q: What is the difference between a 1967 Camaro from a 1968 camaro?
K I want to know the difference between the two. I already know about the wing windows on the 67 but not on the 68 and that the vin number on the 67 is on the door pillor and on the 68 its on the dash. If you know any difference let me know
A: The better under dash ventilation system which meant no vent windows is a good one for ‘68 compared to the first year ‘67.
The taillights are different. The front grill and parking lights are different but i can never remember which is which. I apologize. Between the hidden headlights and stuff they had a few different configurations those 2 years.
But,
The ‘67 had a Z/28 option that you could order. It was literally the letter code on the ordering form! But they didn’t call the car a Z/28.
Later on, Chevy marketing thought the ‘67 option code Z/28 had a cool ring to it…so in ‘68 if you ordered that code you got emblems on the car stating is was in fact a Z/28! Chevy made the same DZ-302 Z/28 engine from ‘67 to ‘69.
Here’s the most knowledge,
The BIGGEST difference between a ‘67 and a ‘68 Camaro is more than just Camaro. It effected every car sold in the united states in 1968.
In 1968, the Federal Government made it mandatory for all car’s sold in the United States to have SIDE MARKER LIGHTS!
Those little marker lights on the side of the front fender and rear quarter are 1968 to present day for every car! Therefore, the 1967 Camaro has NO marker lights at all on the side but the ‘68 to present day does!
No car before ‘68 did.
I’ll throw this in,….1986 was the first year the government made the rear, middle, ‘3rd brake light’ mandatory!
That may not interest you…until you find yourself looking at mid ’80’s IROC Camaro’s or Monte Carlo SS’s or Vette’s or T/A’s or etc. etc.
Q: How can I tell if a 1967 Camaro RS is a true RS?
I have the Vin, and am looking for a site to let me know all the options it had, engine size, tranny, etc! Please let me know if you have anything! If you know, please explain.
A: check out this site:

Q: How do I install an ignition lock on a 1967 Camaro?
I have tried putting a pin in the pin hole, but it didn’t work. Does anybody have any suggestions?
A: Missing critical step. With the key in the ignition, you must turn it to the ACC position, insert the paper clip in the hole depressing the pin while turning turning to the left. It will move a little further, then the cylinder will pull out.
Q: How much does it cost to repair rust in the back end of a 1967 Camaro?
The guy said that there was rust in the back half of the car. How much would it run to fix the trunk pans which have been cut out, replace the shock towers, fix some of the pans, and alter the subframe just a little bit?
A: Between $1000.00 to $2500.00 dollars..
Q: How do I go about getting a title for a 1967 camaro?
All i have is the vin #, no bill of sale. I live in WA state, & the Dept. Of Motor Vehicles keeps giving me the run around, telling me I need to know the state where the vehicle was last registered in order to proceed. That when they run vin #’s, they are only able to check in WA state. So if the vehicle is from out of state, which it is, then I need to contact the Dept. of Motor Vehicles in the state it was last registered.
But, this is a salvage vehicle and I haven’t a clue where exactly it came from, just back east somewhere!!!
So what do I do?
Since the vehicle is so old, it has only 13 vin #’s & none of the sites online can do a vin # check for vin’s w/ less #’s than the standard 17 digit vin.
What can I do?
A: Try putting four zeros in front of the vin number.
Q: Will a power steering conversion kit for a 1967 350 Camaro work on a 1967 camaro with 1988 engine?
I’m unsure about the bolt pattern on the power steering pump, are they the same?
A: yes it will. 100% positive.
Q: How do I know which driveline to install in my 1967 camaro since i have 3 & they all differ in length to size?
I finally have my 350 engine installed and am now getting ready to bolt up tranny. But my question is how do I know what type of driveline is supposed to be used for my car. I have 3 different drivelines that differ in not only length but also in diameter. My transmission is a turbo 350. I have no idea what driveline to use.
A: if you have any power in the motor you want to use the medium or big diameter not the small one because you can twist it off very easy after you get the tranny in measure for length if they came from a camaro you should be ok all of the camaros were close to the same wheel base car just make sure you dont have alot of play in it and use the heavy duty u joints so they dont twist great choice of car i have many of my hotrods and camaros on my 360 page take a look see what you think
