Q: 1972 Camaro in shed for 28 years?
ok theres a 1972 camaro that has been sitting in a shed for aproximitly 28 years and i dont know what they have done for keep up on it. so would it be worth buying for under a grand or if they just gave it to us? would it be worth it with every thing we would have to do with it?
A: If you want to use it for a daily driver no.
If you want to purchase it to restore yes.
Q: 1972 camaro how much to redo?
i just wanted a rough estimate on how much it would cost to take a 1972 Camaro apart and replace every thing?
A: to replace everything about $35,000
Q: Should I buy a 1970-1972 Camaro with a 350 or a 1998-2002 Camaro with a 350?
I like the looks of the early 2nd gens. But I also like the looks of the late 4th gens. Which would be easiest to maintain, cheapest, and which is the overall best investment?
A: Newer is going to be more reliable. The older one will be easier to work on and being almost 40 years old its going to need some work.
Cars are rarely a good investment. Miles, dents, and a poor quality restoration are its enemy and will lower its value quite a bit. Too much risk of something happening if you actually plan on driving it.
LS1’s are not 350 ci either. They are 346 ci.
James – So instead of adding something useful you just troll and whine?
Q: how much did the 1972 yellow camaro sell for on “The Price is Right” game show in 1972?
1972 yellow camaro convertable on the game show called “The price is right”
A: It didn’t sell for anything – they don’t sell anything on The Price is Right – they give them away as prizes
Q: What exactly makes a 1972 camaro an “F-body”?
Everywhere i look i see “F-body” body this and that, but no where does it explain what makes it an “F-body” the only thing i could come up with is if it was made in Flint and the VIN is an F.
A: It’s just the chassis design and letter code for that design
GM lables the platform (chassis, suspension) with a letter code.
The F body is the mid size, RWD, unibody chassis used to build the camaro and firebird.
All 67-02 camaros and firebirds are “F body” cars
GM used the same chassis, suspension, etc on a few cars in their line up. Like chevy camaro and pont. firebird are almost the same car.. The 80’s chevy monte carlo and the buick regal are almost the same car.
Heres some of the platform codes
A – 1964-80: RWD Cutlass/Skylark/Chevelle/LeMans/Malibu/Regal
A Special – 1968-80: RWD Monte Carlo/Grand Prix
G – 1981-88: RWD Sedan Cutlass/Regal/Malibu/Bonneville
G-Special – 1981-88: RWD Coupe Cutlass/Regal/Monte Carlo/Grand Prix
H – 1971-79: RWD Vega/Astre/Monza wagon/Sunbird wagon
H-Special – 75-80: RWD Monza/Starfire/Skyhawk/Sunbird (excluding wagon)
X – 1962-79: RWD Nova/Omega/Ventura/Apollo/Phoenix (also the original RWD Seville)
Y – 1953-Up: Corvette
Q: what was the original cost for a 1972 Chevy Camaro?
A: the answer is A. 3 grand
I hope you win!
Q: how many miles to the gallon does a 1972 camaro get?
A: Depends on which engine came in it, and condition of that engine.
Q: How much would a 1972 Camaro SS worth?
I have a 1972 Camaro SS with a rebuilt 5.7 L/350 engine. I redone the interior, the carpet, seats, & the dash. I also just had it completely repainted. The original paint color was silver, but I painted it back red with the SS black stripes. It has a 4:11 posi-trac rear end in it, that came original to the car. I know that there was only 6,562 1972 Camaro SS made but with the 4:11 rear end & the 350 motor I have no clue. If I were to sell my car, how much could I sell it for?
I would rate the Camaro as a 5. It is a beautiful car! Runs & handles great!
A: Depends on the condition.
This site rates condition from 1 to 5. 5 being a junker or a parts car, 1 being a pristine perfect car with a frame off restoration.
Be honest with yourself on the condition
Your car is most likely a 2 or 3
Between $8,000 to $12,000
This would be for a matching numbers car. It may lose a little value for not having the original color paint.
It would be worth a lot more if it originally came with the 402.
For a car like this, ultimately it is only worth as much as you can get someone to pay for it.
By the way, VERY NICE RIDE!
Q: Will 1974 firebird doors fit a 1972 camaro? What is the difference?
A: the camero has a ridge in the center ,,the firebird is rounded
Q: Can anyone give me the price of a 1972 Camaro?
A: I recall they were around 3500. Check the price guide link below.
The price of one today would be an antique value being over 25 years old. On cars.com they are between 2 and 9 grand.
Q: does 1972 camaro bucket seats fit a 1973 nova?
A: yes
Q: how much did a 1972 camaro cost new?
A: I did a quick estimated figure. I found this web site for the minimum wage for 1972.
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0774473.html
I then took what was an annually wage for 2006 (minimum wage) and then divide 1972 annually minimum wage. The figures that I used got a figure of 0.24. I then multiplied 0.24 by $20000. Which is pretty close to what a camaro cost these days. I got a figure of $4800. So I figure it is pretty close to that price.
