Q: how to program a factory keyless remote on a 1993 z28 camaro?
my question is i have one keyless entry remote from a 1995 z28 camaro i used to have. i now have a 1993 z28 camaro and was wandering if this remote from the 1995 camaro would work with the 1993 camaro. if so how do the you program the remote.
A: Special equipment is to be connected to the vehicle for re-programing.
Q: 1993 Camaro wont start no fuel pressure?
Its a 1993 camaro v6 It ran great yesterday and today it would not run. It started, but bogged out after a couple seconds and now it wont start at all. I checked the pressure release valve for the fuel and theres no pressure. Is there anything else I could check before I have to pull the gas tank out?
A: You don’t always have pressure in the fuel lines until you turn the key on and in some cases the engine needs to be spinning over. That’s the way it usually happens ,you drive the car home and everything is working great , then you get in it the next morningjust to find out it wont start . I’m sure that is going to be your fuel pump that’s bad, but check your fuel filter to make sure it’s not clogged up , also check the fuel pump relay to make sure it’s working, you might have to find the fuse box that’s under the hood to find the fuel pump relay.
Q: 1993 Camaro?
Its not a Z28 but its a V8 with 380 HP.
The body is very clean but w/ a little paint issues.
The interior is perfect w/ a minor scratch.
Do you think its worth the price.
3000$
Its a automatic Tranny
But im 17 and insuarance will be around 150 bc im a teenager and what not so take stuff like that into factor.
150,000 miles
Automatic
Its a V8 LT so that gives it more HP than a regular V8.
Take my age of 17 intyo account and the insuarance
A: If it runs great and looks good, then yeah. I sold my 93 V6 Camaro 2 years ago for $2700. And it did not run great!! It had some chipped paint on the front bumper. The driver seat was ripped. But is sure was beautiful!!! I’d still have it, if it ran good. But i bought it from a teenage boy, and let’s say he didn’t treat it right. So if you do buy it, don’t ruin it!! Treat it good and take care of it.
Insurance for teenage boys is going to be higher no matter what you buy, and a little more since your wanting a sports car. Since your going to be paying more money anyways, drive what you want to!
Q: What is the difference between a 1993-02 Camaro SS or Z28?
What is the difference between the 1993-02 Camaro SS or Z28? Which model trim is higher between the SS or the Z28? I believe the RS is the base model with the V6 engine and the SS and the Z28 comes with the V8 engines.
I have a friend who used to own a 1997 Camaro SS V8 w/leather interior.
A: Camaro – base model which comes with a Series II 3800 3.8L V6 engine rated at 200 HP. Prior to 1996, the standard engine was a 3.4L V6 with 160 HP with the 3.8L being an option in mid-1995. A 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic (4L60E) transmission is available. A performance package (Y87) is also available starting in 1996 which includes a posi rear, rear disc brakes, 3.42 gearing in the A4, exhaust pipes/tips on both sides, and sport steering ratio.
RS – appearance package available starting in 1996 for the base Camaro (V6) only. It includes ground effects and an up-level spoiler. “RS” badges are located on the front fenders and rear passenger bumper. In 1998 the RS was dropped, however the appearance package was still available as an option.
Z28 – The high end model. From 1993 – 1995 it came with a 275HP 5.7L V8 (LT1) engine. In 1996 power was increased to 285HP by going to a 2 catalytic converter setup. In 1998 the Z28 went to the all new LS1 which was rated at 305 HP and 335 ft-lbs of torque. A black roof treatment was standard on all 1993 and 1994 Z28s, and 1995 models and later offered a roof that was the same color as the rest of the body as an option. A 6-speed (Borg-Warner T-56) or 4-speed automatic (4L60E) transmission is available. The suspension and brakes are enhanced for improved handling. Two available Preferred Equipment Groups make the car either moderately or fully loaded. “Z28″ badges are located on the front fenders and rear passenger bumper. In 1993, an Indy 500 Pace Car version (with automatic transmission) was made with a black and white paint scheme and multi-colored paint stripes along each side of the car.
SS – available as an upgrade to the Z28 model starting in late-1995 (as a 1996 model). The package include a functional ram air hood scoop and reworked exhaust manifolds resulting in 305 HP and 335 ft-lbs of torque. An optional freer flowing exhaust system brings HP to 315 and torque to 342 ft-lbs. In 1998 with the introduction of the LS1 engine, power was boosted to 320HP, and with the optional SLP exhaust power was boosted to 327HP. The stock wheels and tires are replaced with 5-spoke 17″ ZR-1 style wheels with 275/40ZR/17 tires. Hurst shifter and Torsen differential were available options. Bilstein shocks, stiffer rate springs/bushings, and a larger front sway bar make up the optional Level-II suspension. The stock spoiler is replaced with sleeker looking one. “SS” badges replace the “Z28″ badges on the front fenders and rear passenger bumper. All cars were shipped as stock Z28s to Street Legal Performance (SLP) Engineering where the above modifications were made through 1997. After that, GM made the modifications on its own assembly line.
SS/LT4 – available only in 1997 with all of the standard and optional SS equipment, but the LT1 was replaced by a balanced and blueprinted LT4 engine with 330 HP. Additionally, they got a new stainless steel exhaust system and exhaust manifolds, and a new Bilstein performance suspension set-up. The cars had to be special ordered as 30th Anniversary cars with a 6-speed transmission, and no T-tops or convertible, and they were then sent to SLP for modification. Production was limited to 100 cars.
Q: Will a Chevy 350 small block crate engine fit in a 1993-2003 camaro z28?
I would like to know if a chevy 350 crate would fit in a camaro z28 any years from 1993-2003 and if so which years. What modifications/plug and play harness would be needed?
A: the camaro was only made until 2002, and it will fit in all of them. the engine bay is the same from 1993-1997 and from 1998-2002 it is the same also. you might need different motor mounts and special kits to put one into a 1993-1997, and you will almost definately need them for the later years. if you are replacing an engine, might i suggest just trying to find another camaro to pull the engine from?
Q: How do i fix my 1993 Chevy Camaro?
I have a 1993 Chevy Camaro (5-speed, 3.4L V6) and the 5th gear doesnt work. Im pretty sure it is the synchronizer. I wanted to know if anyone knew how much i would cost to fix this problem? any help would be greatly appreciated.
A: I build cars and have the 92 Camaro 5 speed. I asked 2 of my friends who specialize in transmissions to put a 3rd gear sinc in for me and they both rolled their eyes. seems the 5 speed is a bit of a mess to fix. I looked at prices to buy a rebuild kit and it cost more(at my discounted price) than a 700R4 auto. Go figure. sorry
Q: I have a 1993 camaro that keeps overheating?
I took off the thermostat and it ran better for about 4 days now it’s overheating again. There is no fluid leaking from underneath the car my radiator fan is working and there is plenty of anti freeze in the car. Any ideas what might be wrong? I can’t afford a mechanic.
Oh and the radiator has been flushed also and the oil level is good
A: Coul be a defective water pump. with the engine running, put some clean newspaper under car and with a strong flashlight see if you can see coolant weeping out of the weep hole of the water pump. If so , the water pump seal is shot. When you flushed cooling system, did you put back in the proper amount of 50/50 or 60/40 antifreeze and distilled water? Is there a bleed valve on the thermostat housing or elsewhere? some cars need to have the front of car jacked up- that way you get out any trapped air pockets and let car down and fill with coolant till radiator is full (or coolant runs out of bleed valve if it has one.- then fill recovery tank to proper level. if you can’t find the water pump, ask a friend or follow one of the heater hoses. You then might have to borrow some money and get radiator and cap tested by a garage. Don’t forget to throw in a quality themostat back in engine. Modern electronic engine controls require a t-stat of the proper temp. rating. Get a Haynes manual to start of with-best $16 you will spend.
Q: I have a 1993 camaro that screeches as soon as I turn engine on?
I was told that it could either be a bad fan belt, pulley tensioner, bad water pump, alternator, power steering pump?
A: Could be all of the aboveor none, may be just a loose belt. easy enough to check. You don’t say what engine is in your Camaro. V8 or V6, does it have multiple belts or a Serpentine belt. Could be the belt is loose, if multiple belts check all the tensions of the belts to see if you can find one thats loose. if Serpentine, you may have a bad tensioner, in which case, you’ll need a new one and I would change the belt also.
Q: What heads are the best for a 1993 camaro z28 lt1?
I want to know what heads will make my car the fastest for the quarter mile, i heard that afr heads are the best and will make my car the fastest, is this true?? Money is not a problem I just want to know what is the best and then i will go from there, please tell me what other heads are good and list them best to worst. THANKS
A: DART heads are the best but heads alone wont make your car fast just make sure you have the right cam and lifter springs
Q: Where can I get a cheap 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Body Kit? ?
I just got a new red 1993 chevy camaro and would like to get a body kit to make it look cool. where can i get a cheap one online?
I would also like one to have the front bumper, rear bumper and 2 side skirts (standard) also if you could make it around $200 Dollars maybe thats pushing it, just find me something cheap.
A: Rk Sport. Or you could always browse some camaro forums for a used one. My bet…You can’t afford a new one, because painting it will cost too much for you, and we really don’t need another car on the road with a primer body kit.
Q: What transmissions will fit a 1993 Camaro V6 3.4L?
I recently ran into problems with my transmission slipping, and now it will not go into drive. I figured it was probably time to find a new transmission, but I am not sure if I can only use a transmission from a Camaro, or will any other car work? Please help me, and if you know of a used one for sale, please contact me =)
Thanks
It is a 4L60E.
A: If your looking for a new trans you might wanna check out craigslist.org and see what you can find.
But the major problem with that is most ppl sell theres because it’s in horrible condition soo you’d be better off finding a local trans shop like LeeMyles and bringing it there.
Q: What is another name for a 700R transmission on a 1993 chevy camaro?
Trying to buy a shift kit, but I want to make sure I buy a comaptible one.
A: The 700r4 was in 3rd gen F-bodies…from 1983-1992…93 and up is a 4L60E trans.
To the thumb downer idiot…The 700r4 and the 4L60E are basically identical when it comes to clutches/bands/servos, but are entirely different electronically. They are not one in the same. There was no 700r4 or 4L60 in a 4th gen F-body…4L60E only for automatics.
“# 700R4’s/4L60 – 4 speed automatics from 84 to 92 models. GM changed their name from 700R4 to 4L60 in the late 80’s/early 90’s. With their 3.06 1st gear, and a .72 4th gear, these transmissions are great for use with 3.73 or higher geared rear ends. Easy for aftermarket installs, and easy on your wallet too. All 700R4’s use a TV (Throttle Valve) cable and a lock-up converter (84-92 use 4-wire connector). All 89 and earlier Camaros & 85 and earlier Firebirds use a mechanical speedometer drive unit, while all other 3rd gens use an electric speedometer drive unit. The speedometer drive units can easily be swapped. These transmissions use plastic gears to calculate the speedometer speed. See below
# 4L60E’s – Computer (Electronic) controlled 4 speed automatics, for 93 and later models. These transmissions require a computer for downshifting and up shifting. You can identify the difference by a round connector for the electronics and no cable. All 94 and later transmissions use a magnetic pickup speedometer drive unit. A reluctor gear is pressed onto the tailshaft. The PCM then converts the signal to a speed. The PCM is programmed with the vehicles gear ratio, so a rear swap mandates reprogramming the PCM for accurate readings.”
Q: can anyone tell me how difficult a auto to manual tranny swap is on a 1993 camaro?
A: Needed:
wiring harness
ecu
clutch pedal assembly
brake pedal assembly
clutch hydro system
manual transmission
clutch & flywheel
tail shaft
driveshaft
about 6 hours book time just for the trans re & re.
Q: What kind of transmission does a 1993 z28 chevrolet camaro have?
My camaro needs a new transmission, and I was wondering what kind they have?
and if anyone knows any tips on finding a cheap one, that would be awesome. I don’t want to stick a lot of money into a car I’m just going to sell.
thanks!
A: 1993 camaro has the metric th700r4 with lockup torque converter and the f body specific tail shaft with the bosses for the torque arm between the tranny and rear end/differential
if you have a v6 you can use any tranny from 93-96 if you have the lt1 you will need the v8 version form 93-98
Q: How do you change the head gasket on a 1993 Camaro 3.2 V6.?
I think my car has a blown head gasket. Is it possible to fix it myself or how much is this goin to cost me? For parts and labor?
A: If you are going to do it yourself the first thing for you to do is to get yourself a Haynes or Chilton Repair Manual for the year and type of vehicle that you have. The process can be little more involved and costly then what you are prepared for. I was and still am in the same situation with my 1994 ford F150 pickup truck. If you do the repair yourself you will gain valuable knowledge of motor vehicle repair. If you have a mechanic do it they will charge you between $900. (on the low end) to $1800. or more (on the high end), but around that price range. You might just consider getting for yourself another vehicle that is a little bit newer and with less miles on it. P.S. The very best thing that you can do for any vehicle is to keep all of the fluids checked and changed especially the oil, keep the oil changed every 2,500 to 3,000 miles that you drive, use a quality grade oil and make sure that you are using the right grade. I can explain to you in detail why keeping the oil changed is so important and what grades mean (ex: 5W30) if you want. or you can just take my word for it.
