Q: What is the reasonable cost for replacing ball joints in my 1995 Camaro?
I have a vibration in the front of my 1995 Camaro. I am thinking it is ball joints, bearings or struts. I have new tires on the car and they have been balanced twice. Need someone to help me narrow the problem down and let me know the estimated cost of repair.

A: Best bet would be to find a friend who can do that kind of work for you.
Ball joints for your car – well most cars have a upper and lower ball joint for each side. So you will need 4 all together. I just replaced mine on a Ford not long ago, they were like 40 bucks a piece i believe so they came to around 180 for parts. Then i paid a friend to put them on for me.
I forget what i paid him, but had i went to a shop to have it done it would have been 3-4 times as much.
Check out Auto zones website (or a similar auto parts store). You can look up the prices for ball joints for your car.
Really, a car that age if you havent replaced the struts and all that good stuff you might just want to go ahead and do alot of front end work. Replace the ball joints, struts, any tie rods or anything that look like they are going bad. Depending on your financial situation of course.

Q: My 1995 Camaro is blowing hot air instead of cold air with the air conditioning. What’s wrong?
I have a 3.4L V6 1995 Camaro. It was blowing hot air so i recharged it. I’m positive it’s charged fully and yet it still blows hot air. What else could be wrong?

A: Compressor , condenser, pressure switch, clutch, A/C controls, fuse, all or part could be bad. You have to realize since we cannot see your car in is impossible to diagnose properly. You could also have too much freon in the system.

Q: what can i do to add more power to my 1995 Camaro?
Ok i have a 1995 chevy camaro. it has the 3.4L in it. i have everything custom. including 2 huge turbos, flowmasters running true duel. im running 7 sec 1/4s and still getting beat my my friends camaro. im pushing 575hp. and 493lbs of torq.

A: Well, a cold air kit couldn’t hurt. It sounds tunerish but Nitrous does pack a punch. And, if you really wanted, go to your local airport, buy some 100 LL (Low Lead) and run that in your engine.

If those don’t work, try a crate engine. Those suckers are packed, however your wallet will suffer a little.

Q: Hello anybody know what the average cost of a port &polish for a 1995 Camaro Z28 and the Benefits as in power?
Hello anybody know what the average cost of a port &polish for a 1995 Camaro Z28(LT1 350ci) and the Benefits such as a power increase and port & polish includes boring over right can i choose how much i wanna bore the engine over by?

A: A port and polish refers to reshaping and smoothing of the intake and exhaust passages (ports) in the cylinder heads and intake manifold. An overbore is not normally included in this procedure but if your engine needs to be rebuilt you might as well have it done when the heads are off anyway. Just have the compression tested before you take it apart. If you get even readings on all 8 holes in a normal range for your engine and the rods aren’t knocking don’t bother to rebuild it. While you can choose the amount of overbore to a point there are limitations dictated by the thickness of the cylinder walls. If your thinking re bore just to build more power forget it. Maximum overbore will increase your displacement by less than 10 cubic inches Which if you do the math it will net at best a 2 or 3 percent increase in displacement and a correspondingly small power increase. In short there are a lot more cost effective and less invasive ways of getting a power increase. Assuming your engine doesn’t need rebuilding I would recommend looking into external bolt on parts to boost your power. You will get more bang for the buck.

Q: How to adjust wipers on 1995 camaro.?
I have a 1995 Z28 camaro and i need to adjust my wipers so they touch all of the wind shield right now they leave a huge gap where i cant see when it rains.
I did buy new blades but they do teh same as the old ones.

A: You should buy new blades, not just the replacement rubber. They should come with the full length spoiler and tensioner to keep pressure on the blade as it travels across the windshield both horizontally and vertically.

Q: what cheap things could i do to my 1995 camaro to increase proformance?
i just baught a 1995 stock camaro and i was looking at making it much faster, first i was thinkning all new exhaust with headers and a cold air intake system, but iam not sure from there, any ideas??

A: Check out a place called Super Six Motorsports. They deal with v6 mustangs, camaros/firebirds, and grand prixs. The website has different power packages for your 3.4liter including heads, intakes, and cams. Ask for a guy named Tom Yentzer. He is the v6 guru there and has substantial knowledge to help you wake up your 6er.

Oh and don’t listen to the crap that all the v8 guys give you. You can make a v6 fast. I have a 2000 black mustang 5 spd with long tube headers, 2.5″ inch h-pipe exhaust and cat-back, 42% udps, and a 93 octane tune and I will hand a 98 gt’s ass and hang really well with the newer v8 mustangs.

Q: Why does my 1995 Camaro w/ manual transmission buck when starting out in low gears?
I have a 1995 Camaro with a V-6 and a manual transmission. When I put the car into 1st gear or switch into 2nd gear and I hit the accelerator after letting out the clutch, the car tends to want to buck or jump instead of smoothly accelerationg. It acts like something is loose. I’m wondering if it’s the transmission itself or possibly some joint between the transmission and the rear axle. Does anyone know of any common Camaro problems of the 93-96 models that might be the cause?
I know how to drive/shift a manual transmission. This is the fourth manual transmission vehicle I’ve had so I know how to shift different ones. I even know how to shift manuals with a high and low switch for each gear. A manual transmission is pretty much all I have ever driven.

This happens after I have fully released the clutch. It also will tend to do it if say I’m driving 2-3 mile an hour and I just give it some gas kinda quick and let off the accelerator a bit. I’ll tend to notice it when I hit the gas and when I let off the gas.

It acts like there is slop or something is loose.

A: Sounds like a bad motor mount.

Q: What gears are in a stock 1995 z28 automatic camaro?
i was wondering what gears were in a stock 1995 camaro z28 with an automatic transmisson

A: i wouldn’t know… sorry

Q: Best Car Speakers for the money a 1995 Camaro? Any recommendations?
Have a 1995 Camaro, any recommended speakers for it? Sub woofers amps.. etc, I don’t want insane bass where you cant even here what you are listening to. Just great quality with a good kick. Suggestions would be great!

A: Polk audio makes the best speakers for the $. I would put a 4ohm L5 kicker sub in there in a ported box ,10″ or 12″ with say a 450w 2ohm stable amp.Depending on what type of music you like.Bigger sub = bigger amp =more $.Make sure you only have the four speaker system in your ride otherwise you are looking at big bucks to bypass the factory amp.

Q: How to remove DelcoBose stereo system in 1995 Chevy Camaro?
I just got a 1995 Chevy Camaro and it has the DelcoBose system in it and an aftermarket head unit. It works okay but I want to replace the entire thing. I hear that it’s pretty annoying to work with, so how can I remove everything extra so I just have the head unit and the wires and mounting locations for the 4 speakers. I will add an amplifier too so I want to remove any sound processors or anything else not needed for an aftermarket system as well. Thanks!

A: See if this helps.

A: This site has the best info on Camaro engine swaps. It will give you some things to read and you can post questions. The people are quite knowledgeable and helpful. Emissions is something to consider if you are wanting it to be street driven. Off road vehicles do not have the same regulations. Dedicated race cars are considered off road vehicles.

Q: One of my Cylinders has a misfire in 1995 z28 camaro?
My 1995 Z28 camaro seems to have a misfire. What could it be a wire, plug, something bigger?

A: try changing plugs and wires. not a big expense and the cost will be offset by better gas mileage over the long run. If that does not cure the miss, run a compression check on all cyls. write down the numbers and compare… if one is very low, you have valve problems. and that isn’t good. Hope the best for ya.

Q: About how much would a motor cost for a 1995 Camaro?
My younger brother is looking to buy a car. The one is is looking at is a 95 camaro and the guys said that it might need a new motor soon. He is asking 1000 for the car, and said the motor would cost about 300-500. Is this true? Do you think its a good deal?

A: well hes not lieing if you want to buy a honda motor, and put it in there. ls1s are generally in the 3k range maybe 2k if your lucky, and then you still have to put it in. and its ture camaros are not hard to find at all just keep an eye out for the right one
